SUISUN CITY, California — November 4, 2026. Three candidates are closely grouped in the first reported City Council results, with two seats available. Katrina Garcia’s margin over Jenalee Dawson for the second reported position is only 35 votes in KQED’s early Solano County tally.
Reported candidate totals
In the election snapshot published at 1:18 a.m. Pacific on November 4, Princess Washington had 2,480 votes (35.1%); Katrina Garcia had 2,012 (28.5%); and Jenalee Dawson had 1,977 (28.0%). Other candidates and write-in selections are part of the complete race, so these three totals are not the entire ballot.
The 35-vote difference between Garcia and Dawson matters because the top two candidates win council seats. It would be misleading to describe the leading candidate’s margin over the second-place candidate as deciding the final seat.
Not the mayoral election
Suisun City voters separately considered a mayoral contest, in which Alma Hernandez led the initial reported count. Read the California58 report on that separate election. Council and mayoral vote totals should not be combined.
Counting continues
The Solano County Registrar of Voters is responsible for the official canvass and certified outcome. Additional valid ballots can affect the order, especially with a margin of only 35 votes in this dated snapshot.
